Jantar Mantar : Maharaja Jai Singh built this great monument from 1727 to 1734 which is a brilliant collection of architectural astronomical instruments. The meaning of Jantar Mantar is instrument and formula. Located in New Delhi, it is a stunning collection of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The major significance behind the construction of this magnificent monument is to assemble astronomical tables and prediction of times and movements of sun, moon and planets.
India Gate : Sir Edwin Lutyens designed this national monument which was opened in the year 1931. It is centrally located and bears the name of World War I martyrs. The inspiration behind this astonishing monument is the Roman Arc of Titus. The original name of this monument is All India War Memorial which has been built in the honour of 90,000 soldiers.
Red Fort : This is one of the most popular tourist spots located in the Netaji Subhash Road, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi. Shahjahan started its construction in the year 1638 and completed in 1648. A remarkable monument reminding the great Mughal heritage is one of the most visited attractions. The great Mughal Emperor constructed it in the walled city of Old Delhi as the abode of Mughal Emperors. Made up of Red Sandstone walls this significant historical monument was mainly built to keep the invaders away.
President House : Sprawled over huge area, President House is a positioned in the central Delhi. This is the official home of the President of India which comprises of 340 room in main building. Qutub Minar : Qutub Minar alias Qutb Minar, which is 73m high tower of victory is the tallest minaret in India. In the year 1193, it was constructed by Qutab ud din Aibak. This ancient Islamic monument bears Arabic inscriptions, whereas Iron pillar has Brahmi inscriptions over it. This is certainly one of the most popular tourist spots of Delhi.
